Indian Creek 02/25/06

Indian Creek Trailhead

Heading into the wilderness! Little did we know.

Colorful water..we did see

Exploring the basin

Colorful waterfall also

Heading up

A neat little bathtub

The Indians invented the first whirlpool

It was slick and we aimed to prove it!

Evidence of Cliff Dwellers

.....more evidence?

and some Indian Art?

Can you spot Alan and Mitchell?

Up Indian Creek

Dorothy trying to decide to turn back or not

Modern Indian Art

Up more of Indian Creek

Shoe imprint in solid rock

We have arrive at our first BIG obstacle!

Sign at base of Tunnel Cave

Tunnel Cave (aka Arkansas Cave)

How we got UP!

A little bit on the nervy side!

The falls before the EYE

Another look

Up to the top before we walk the ledge

VERY STEEP! (db)

....and VERY HIGH UP (db)

We even used Deena's new rope (db)

Mitchell's House

This reminded me of the Goat Bluff

If it were not for this hole in the bluff we could not have gone any further. Thanks Dale for cutting it.

The EYE OF THE NEEDLE

We have arrived!

The EYE and the END for US

Lunch before the return

We all sat in silence, wondering how we ever made it to this place.

Paul getting ready to explore a cave or two

Heading back the way we came...boohoo

.... but what choice did we have?

None, absolutely None!

Finding our way down (db)

Our ropes saved the day (db)

Looking back up from whence we came! (db)

Just a few example of how's it done

Not a very pretty site getting back down

But we made it safe and sound

A bit muddy and tired but.....

speaking of .......

Now we go home

....and are thankful for the experience

and the neat places to rest.

The sign says "Primitive" ,  we KNOW

...and the last part was flat and smooth, thanks

... and we reflected on the days adventure and knew we had discovered things we thought we could never do....and we did it.
