HAWKSBILL CRAG / BOB CHESTER MEMORIAL 10/20/07

...and our shuttle back to the trailhead

Ready for a great day....and it was!

All forty of us.

Dorothy protecting the "house"

New sign in the wilderness

...and new signs on the trail

....so we begin our hike to the crag

...so off to the crag we go

Some neat fungi

Those ahead, waiting on those behind

We first stop at Haley Falls

.. and do a little exploring

Some go to the lower falls

Linda is quite a trooper

...she takes the hard way back up

But to say face, Bruce has to help a little!

Bruce and Linda and the gnarly Pine

This seahorse rock may not be here the next time we arrive.

Bill taking the high road

Pat and Dean and the gnarly Pine

Brenda and Danny and the gnarly Pine

Ted Honghiran and the gnarly Pine

The Crag and some of us

...and most of us on the Crag

The Crag

...and finally arriving at the Woods Place

... and a large crowd

...and lots of food

SEE!

and SEE!

...so we dig right in

Those that are late have to stand in line

...but it is quite worth it

After eating, it is just great to sit and rest

Lou and Lynne

Dale and Barbara

...and some of the others

Dr. Robert L. Chester Oct. 29, 1926 - Feb. 6, 2007

The reason for this day was to celebrate a great man

...who was a true friend to so many

...a very giving man

of who we will miss very much

Some of those who gave a testimony

Larry

Haley Zega's grandmother, Mrs. Hale

Kenny

The Wood's Boys and Bennie

Singing Dr. Chester's favorite hymns

Cave Mountain will not be the same, but Bob's spirit will always be here. It was evident today.  Thank you Dr. Chester for all the lives you have touched.  We count it a privilege to have been your friend.  We will miss you.
