HEMMED-IN HOLLOW 11/20/10

Arriving at Compton Trailhead

Ready for a great hike

No dogs, no bikes, no 4-wheelers.....but you can have horses!

The easy part ....downhill!

Lots of nice signs

Someone has put in a lot of work on these steps....Thanks!

Our first view of Hemmed-In Hollow from California Point

What happened to the hikers?

When you go "downhill" you know what that means?

Coming out is "uphill"!

We would go to the falls

A scared Beech Tree

First sighting of Hemmed-In Hollow Falls

No water today

I believe the cave is getting bigger

We got a late start so it was time for lunch

Caught Yuko tying her boots....again!

Us at the falls

Now to Granny Henderson's Cabin

A bunch of old folks

One old boot, one old .....?

Wouldn't want to have to carry that walking stick!

Can you believe they blocked the trail?

Arriving at Goat Bluff Trialhead (Big Bluff)

Someone left an avocado peel, that's fancy eating.

The crawl through

The Buffalo River...not much water!

Hope Barbara doesn't see this of Dale.

Why is Bill hugging the wall?

This was the most exciting part of our hike.  Can you see why?

Thanks for holding the ceiling up for us.

Everyone needs to do this at least once in their lifetime.

Very primitive!

...but first tie your boots!

Now for the 3-mile death march out!

Back at Center Point Trailhead

The weather was cool, which made the hike perfect.
