MT. NEBO RIM TRAIL 10/01/11

70 Hikers showed up for today's hike

Getting ready for our group picture

It was a perfect weather day of our hike

The first part of the Rim Trail is zigzag down rock steps

Amanda and Paul making their way down

If you can find something to hang on to, it helps!

If dad knew what Heidi was up to .........!!!!

We did!

By a third of the way down the trail we started shedding clothes.

A little tremble and this would not be standing there, nor would we!

Little Emberly and Cheyenne heading down the trail

Who is that girl under her coat?

A nice bunch of rock seats....and we used them.

Cheyenne found her own seat.

Getting closer to Sunset Point

The last of our bunch.....

The sun actually felt good

We made good time getting here

We lost a few by the time we reached Sunset Point

Getting ready for our second group picture

Us at Sunset Point

After the group picture...I had to let my people go...they smelled food!

...but did we forget someone?

Oh, it was just Heidi.... hope she doesn't fall!

Arkansas Nuclear One

At this point the pace picked up

We could smell the "dogs' cooking

Another one of those crazy signs

One more zigzag ......

....and home free!

By the time the last person arrived, this was all that was left.

Thanks to Kat we had a very nice dessert.

We sat where ever, it didn't matter.

Isn't that a neat cake?

A few exchange students for Arkansas Tech

Just engaged, so they wanted to eat alone. Isn't that sweet?

Stella Wang

The Morgan Family

Mary Ann

Rebecca had the right idea

It was good to have Bob back with us (Chris on the right)

Now this is a layout! Might be a good place to take a nap later!

It wouldn't be long and the cake would be completely destroyed!

Six of us just couldn't leave the mountain until we hiked the Bench Trail (Carol, Valli, Kaoru, Daniel, Danny & Brenda)

What a great way to start our 14th Hiking Season.....perfect weather, a perfect place to hike and perfect company to enjoy it all.  If you missed it...shame on you.
