GEE CREEK 10/15/16

First things first......

Pit stop at Rotary Ann

Arriving at Haw Creek Campground

We could have parked at Haw Creek Falls,
but hey, that would mean hiking further....!!!

Our hikers for the day.....

Our hike for the day.....

Entrance to the OHT

Hope they are watching for cars on Hwy. 123

Funny looking mushrooms growing in the woods.

Down our first hill.....

Not much water in the creeks today,
right Gloria?

No water, but very slick, right PAM?

So PAM decided to borrow one of Gloria's
hiking sticks, so that wouldn't happen again!

Trustin at Old Mile Marker 103

Our first MAJOR waterfall....WOW!

Our first of many, many creek crossings.

No slips on this crossing

Half-way mark....campsite

Rest time.....

Time to shed a few shirts......

A few spiders out today......the leader got
the privilege to take 'em down!

Old Mile Marker 102, soon to be removed.

Our turn around point....
an old homesite just off of the OHT.

Lila finds a "wash" tub.....

We needed a bigger one to cover her whole
body, including her face....!!!! Ouch!

Orvalene found this razorback hog rock..
use your imagination and you can see it.

Entering the housesite grotto.....

Someone lately has been doing some digging
under the grotto....

We even found some of their equipment,
a shovel and screen.

Wonder what Mark is doing?

Nice rock wall out in the middle of nowhere.

Lila is surprised at something?

Time for lunch: 11:57 AM

This is all Kathy left Lindsey for lunch!

I knew that Indians lived in this area.

Nice shirt.....

I bet Gloria is eating healthy....!

John teaching Trustin how to skip rocks.....

Lila telling some pretty tall tales.....

Between John, Lindsey and David's jokes, and
Lila's tall tales, it was an entertaining lunch time.

It was now time to head out and cross
Gee Creek, at least 20 times! (or 10?)

Anyone want to count the number of crossings?

Four......

Five.....

Six....

Lost count....I think eighteen.....

No way John is going to do this....
Check out our Facebook page to see...!

Done crossing the creek, now home.

Made it back to Highway 123.....

Our cars are still there....!

The last of the last....
It was a fun day, no mishaps, leaves starting to turn,
won't be long now and the Ozarks will be in full color!
DON'T MISS IT.....
